Central Nervous System

Central nervous system (CNS) diseases, including schizophrenia or Alzheimer’s disease, are a focus of Boehringer Ingelheim discovery research and development. We have a range of different compounds in development, some in advanced clinical phases. We specifically address cognitive impairment ­ a problem across many neuropsychiatric diseases. Together with our research activity in other fields of psychiatry, including treatment­resistant depression and “beyond the pill” approaches, it represents our mission to develop effective innovative treatment approaches for these underserved illnesses.
